Big shout out to the Central Minnesota Federal Credit Union for a most excellent tour!
On a beautiful spring morning, Mrs. Hoeschen‘s class was the first group of first-graders to hike to CMFCU and attend a tour of the Albany branch. We were able to stroll behind the teller desks and sent a Huskie toy through the drive-through shoot. FUN! We also watched as coins were sorted and counted… A handy tool for our piggy banks. Thank you so much Albany Credit Union!
First Graders "Rock" Geology Lessons
All 1st graders had an opportunity to collect rocks & participate in a variety of activities last week. Students sorted & compared rocks, measured rocks & spent time reading all about rocks. Mrs. Hoeschen's students choose one special rock that becomes their very own "Gratitude Rock". Students hold this rock and remember one special event or person they are grateful for that day. We had a blast learning all about rocks!
Albany first graders took a trip to the dentist's office to learn about their teeth and dental health.
Today, all 100 1st graders took a quick field trip to the Albany Family Dentistry where we learned more about dental health. Fun fact: snails have teeth! We sorted food into food groups, read labels and saw X-rays of teeth. We really like our new toothbrushes and wish our teachers would let us use them today after lunch! What a fun trip!
